It is with sadness to learn about the passing of Heiko Socher this past Thanksgiving weekend. He will be missed and remembered by all of us here at the Griz Inn for his vision, passion for the mountains and so much more. The development of Fernie Snow Valley, the creation of the Mountain Lakes Trail and even the construction of our very our Griz Inn, were all the result of his pioneering spirit and boundless energy. Heiko’s legacy and spirit will live on in our community and in our mountains. Our sincerest regards to Linda, Elke, Ralph and families.
